“The Vagina Monologues” is getting an HBO movie!
MSNBC reports that HBO has greenlit a comedy-drama set in a woman’s vagina that will star Lizzy Caplan, who played the role of a woman with a vagina in the “Lizzy Caplans” series of television shows.
HBO has not yet officially announced the project.
The first episode will air in 2017, and the first season will follow the life of a vaginally active woman.
HBO will produce the project, with producer Simon Barrett and executive producers Sam Mendes and Matt Walsh.
Caplan has played the female role in the television series for nearly 20 years.
Caplan has previously said that she is not a doctor or medical professional and that she has never had surgery or procedures done on her vagina.
She also recently explained that her character is not in fact a vaginary surgeon and that the show was a way to explore the fact that women have vaginas.
The project is Caplan’s second television project after “Liza,” which she wrote and directed.
“The Vaginal Monologies” was inspired by a play about the lives of two women, one a young mother and one a college student.
The two women have been together for nearly 50 years.
Caplan and her co-stars, Julie Walters and Rachel McAdams, wrote the script.
The show is being produced by Michael Green and Lauren Cohan, who have also previously worked on the HBO series “Veep.”
Caplan will also play the mother of the two women in the upcoming “Lizzie.”
“I’ve been really lucky in that I have been able to explore so many different aspects of my body, both literally and figuratively,” Caplan told the New York Daily News.
“It’s such an interesting thing to be able to do that in a work environment and in a television environment and have this show being created in such a fun way.
It’s really exciting and it’s also a very important thing that I can say about women.”
The project marks Caplan and the women’s first HBO project.
Earlier this month, the network announced it would produce “The Good Wife” spinoff “Bad Feminist” as part of its effort to broaden its programming to include more women.
HBO is currently airing the first episodes of “The Girls Next Door,” a new show from “Orange Is the New Black” star Lili Reinhart and director Kim Dickens.
